Butterfly Network vs EchoNous
For a heart failure clinic that wants a handheld to calculate ejection fraction at the visit, EchoNous is the pick and Butterfly loses. Kosmos lists an automated Ejection Fraction feature with stroke volume, cardiac output and heart rate, plus manual override. Butterfly's iQ3 page lists Cardiac Output, Biplane and Subxiphoid Tilt and no ejection fraction tool, and its pricing page names two AI tools, Auto Bladder Volume and Auto B-Line Counter, in the Advanced membership at $420 a year plus the probe (currency not stated).
Price points the other way. Butterfly posts $2,699 for the iQ+ and $3,899 for the iQ3 (currency not stated), with membership extra. EchoNous says pricing depends on configuration and location, and it describes Kosmos Plus as less than $20k (currency not stated). A two-physician urgent care buying a probe at a posted price would start with Butterfly. EchoNous also exports DICOM, and its FAQ answers yes on modality worklist once a DICOM profile is created.
