Canon Medical AI vs Subtle Medical

Subtle Medical says its software is vendor-neutral and runs on over 1,300 scanners. SubtleHD covers MR, PET and CT, with 510(k) decisions for SubtleHD-PET and SubtleHD-CT a day apart in May 2026. Subtle claims up to 80% faster MRI sequences and up to 75% faster PET scans, and AiMIFY, developed with Bracco, targets lower-dose gadolinium brain MRI.

Canon builds AiCE into Vantage and Aquilion scanners, and its FDA decisions, including one from March 2026, are for those systems. The up to 82.4% dose-reduction figure comes from a phantom study. Replacing CT and MR units puts Canon on the list. Faster acquisition on equipment a PET or MR site already runs is the use Subtle targets.

Canon comes second for that site, if Subtle's vendor-neutral claim holds for its scanners. Subtle is the harder sell to a site that must confirm a scanner model and PACS match first, since the company's claim comes without scanner or PACS names.
