GRAIL vs Sectra Pathology
A hospital pathology service that wants a vendor-neutral viewer with third-party AI on one contract is Sectra's customer. IDS7 covers worklists, reporting and image review, and Sectra says it has integrated more than 50 pathology AI vendors through its Amplifier marketplace. The Digital Pathology Module has K193054 from March 2020 and K232208 from April 2024, the later one for FFPE primary diagnosis with the Leica Aperio GT 450 DX and a specified Dell display, in SVS and DICOM. Sectra says one viewer covers pathology, radiology and genomics images.
Galleri looks for methylation signals from more than 50 cancer types in a blood sample. It is meant for adults 50 and older, in addition to guideline-recommended screening, and GRAIL states that it does not detect a signal for every cancer.
These two sit with different buyers. A hospital signs the Sectra contract for its image workflow, and a clinician prescribes Galleri to a patient.
