Hyperfine Swoop vs TeraRecon

Hyperfine makes the scanner and TeraRecon makes software for scans that already exist, so neither replaces the other. A hospital with ICU patients who cannot leave the unit buys Swoop for brain MRI with Optive AI reconstruction. It gives T1, T2, T2-FLAIR and DWI, and a Malawi clinical review notes no contrast-enhanced T1, and a Scientific Reports paper puts image quality below 1.5T and 3T. Hyperfine is a Nasdaq company with about $37.9 million in cash in its preliminary third-quarter figures.

An imaging department that already owns CT and MR scanners buys TeraRecon. Intuition handles 3D post-processing and cardiac MR, and the AI Framework runs third-party algorithms, with Infervision, Gleamer and Optellum among the partner logos. Results go to reporting systems over DICOM and HL7, and no EHR is named on that page. SymphonyAI acquired TeraRecon in 2020, and its newsroom has titled releases "ConcertAI's TeraRecon" since 2024. Its own algorithms hold openFDA records: Cardiac.Chambers.MR (K241312), Aorta.CT (K243158), Cardiovascular.Calcification.CT (K250288) and the TeraRecon Neuro perfusion tool (K220349). Those are segmentation, quantification and perfusion tools, and none of its openFDA decisions carries a triage code.
