Proximie vs VirtaMed

Recording operating rooms and practicing on a simulator are different purchases, and no buyer weighs one against the other.

Proximie is for a hospital group that wants its theatres recorded and linked for remote case collaboration. The vendor claims 500+ facilities in 50 countries, and its press page lists an NHS program across 104 theatres with AWS and Deloitte. It carries HIPAA, ISO 27001 and SOC 2 Type 2 badges. FDA, CE and UKCA status are not stated, "EHR integration" names no vendors, and there is no public price. A hospital expecting the analytics tier to change outcomes has four Proximie studies to go on, all education or feasibility work.

VirtaMed is for an orthopedic or laparoscopy residency program, or a simulation center, that needs assessable hands-on practice with what VirtaMed describes as real instruments. Its three papers are training studies too, among them a LaparoS crossover in which all trainees improved. The price is a capital purchase of hardware with no public figure, so a department that wants software on a laptop gets the wrong thing. A third-party report calls the simulators CE marked training devices that need no FDA approval, and no certificate is cited.
