Sectra Pathology vs Visiopharm
Visiopharm's apps suit a breast unit in the EU or UK that wants ER, PR, HER2 and Ki-67 scoring on whole slide images, and the vendor describes them as IVDR certified. Its research-use platform is sold to pharma and academia, so a pharma team running tissue studies has a direct path there, and Sectra's image analysis tools, cell counting among them, are part of a viewer.
A pathology department that needs a slide viewer, worklists and reporting chooses Sectra. IDS7 runs on a Digital Pathology Module with 510(k) clearances from March 2020 and April 2024. Sectra builds no AI. It sells third-party apps through its Amplifier marketplace, where it says more than 50 pathology AI vendors are integrated.
A US lab starting digital primary diagnosis cannot take Visiopharm, because the FDA database lists no Visiopharm clearance.
