Canon Medical AI vs Nanox.AI

Canon's AiCE is reconstruction inside its scanners, so it arrives with a scanner order. Twenty-eight of its 98 openFDA clearances since 2018 carry AiCE or AiCE-i in the device name, on devices such as the Vantage Fortian 1.5T and the Aquilion Serve. An imaging center ordering a new CT scanner gets AiCE with it.

Nanox.AI analyses studies after they are acquired. The three solutions on its AI page work on CT: HealthCCSng reads coronary calcium on non-gated chest CT, HealthOST flags vertebral height loss and bone density, and HealthFLD measures liver density. The vendor says results connect to PACS, EMR and report systems. openFDA lists twelve AI K-numbers under the Zebra, Nanoxai and Nano-X AI names, among them chest X-ray triage (HealthPNX, HealthCXR, HealthPPT), 2D screening mammography notification (HealthMammo) and head CT hemorrhage triage (HealthICH), against the vendor's "7 FDA clearances". A 2025 validation of HealthOST found 92.0% sensitivity for vertebral compression fractures at the 20% height-loss threshold, with specificity figures starting at 52.7%.

Nanox sells to a health system that has chest CTs on file and wants calcium, bone or liver reads from them.
