Elucid vs TeraRecon

Coronary CT plaque is where these two meet. Elucid's PlaqueIQ (K241524, September 2024, and K261855, September 2026) quantifies and classifies plaque, including non-calcified plaque and lipid-rich necrotic core, and Category I CPT 75577 has applied since January 2026. TeraRecon's DETECT page lists a Plaque Analysis module for cardiac CT and says DETECT supports FDA-cleared biomarkers without naming one. Its openFDA records include a calcified-plaque mask for calcium scoring (K250288, October 2025). For a cardiology group buying plaque quantification, TeraRecon loses that purchase on the clearances.

TeraRecon fits a hospital radiology department that wants a CT and MR viewer plus a platform, which the vendor calls vendor-agnostic, for running several companies' algorithms, with results returned by DICOM and HL7. It lists no public price. SymphonyAI acquired it in 2020, and its newsroom has titled releases "ConcertAI's TeraRecon" since 2024. Elucid works differently. The physician sends images to Elucid, trained analysts segment a 3D model, and turnaround for that step is not published.
