Philips Imaging AI vs Subtle Medical

Subtle Medical describes its image-quality software as vendor-neutral, and an imaging department with MR and PET from several manufacturers is who it reaches. SubtleHD covers MR, PET and CT, SubtleSYNTH and SubtleREFORMAT add MR tools, and AiMIFY, built with Bracco, targets lower-dose contrast brain MRI. The company reports up to 80% faster MRI sequences, up to 75% faster PET and more than 1,300 scanners, all vendor figures. SubtleHD for CT is described as reducing noise and improving low-contrast detectability. Eleven 510(k)s are on the FDA record, the newest from May 2026.

Philips reports FDA clearance of SmartSpeed Precise, a dual-AI MR reconstruction for 1.5T and 3.0T dStream systems, and sells its AI alongside its scanners. A hospital whose MR fleet is all Philips dStream has less reason to add Subtle for MR. When the fleet mixes manufacturers, SmartSpeed Precise covers only the Philips part of it.
