Abridge vs Augmedix
Augmedix is no longer independent. Commure completed its purchase on October 2, 2024 for about $139 million, and the product now sells within Commure Ambient AI as Go (automated), Assist (AI plus specialists) and Live (human documentation). Its human layer is what separates it from Abridge. Third-party estimates for the hybrid tiers run $300 to $700 per provider per month, and neither vendor posts a price.
Augmedix lists iKnowMed alongside Epic, athenahealth, NextGen, eClinicalWorks and Meditech, and ships oncology and ED-specific apps, so a community oncology practice or a NextGen group has a reason to start there. Abridge's pitch is Linked Evidence, a vendor feature mapping note text to transcript and audio, inside Epic. For a group that wants software only and a price it can estimate, Augmedix loses: Abridge has a third-party estimate of $208 to $600 per clinician per month, while the $300 to $700 figure covers the hybrid tiers and none exists for Go. A 2024 r/medicine post written before the merger called Augmedix's human scribes weak with non-native English speakers and thin on HPIs. Abridge drew accuracy complaints too, in two March 2026 threads.
