CombineHealth vs Ember

Ember's homepage describes an AI revenue cycle platform for specialty practices and health systems. It says the coding engine reviews 100% of encounters against payer policies and contracts with a rule citation on each flag, and that the appeal engine reads CARC and RARC codes, drafts appeal letters and tracks claims through adjudication. Ember's seed release claims denials down 57%, and its homepage claims six health systems live on Oracle Health, all vendor-reported.

The security statements differ in detail. Ember's homepage lists SOC 2 Type II, HITRUST e1 and HIPAA. CombineHealth's trust page says it supports compliance with HIPAA and SOC 2, its footer badge reads AICPA SOC 2 Certified with no type, and the page does not mention HITRUST. A health system security team gets a SOC 2 type and a HITRUST level from Ember, which makes CombineHealth the weaker pick for that team.

CombineHealth, listed by Y Combinator as Winter 2023, offers a biller role for claim submission and an A/R specialist for payer follow-up, aimed at billing offices on the EHRs its homepage logos show.
