What does MDAware do with an incoming message?

For the inbox, the Elion summary describes AI triage and routing of messages to the right staff. The platform page describes a single system across calls, faxes, voicemails, texts, emails, secure messages, web forms and referrals. On referrals it lists intake that creates the patient record and uploads documents to the EHR, AI-extracted referral fields that staff approve, suggested document categories, voicemail transcription with callbacks, recall and no-show outreach campaigns, and a physician-liaison CRM. The homepage headline is "Turn more referrals into scheduled care".

The vendor positions the product to work with an EHR or practice management system as the system of record, with bidirectional integration. Apart from an athenahealth Solution Partner and marketplace listing on July 14, 2026, no EHR is named on the homepage or the platform page. Neither page states HIPAA, a BAA or SOC 2.

Who is Switchboard, MD?

The About page lists Blake Anderson, MD, as founder, CEO and CTO and gives no address or legal name. CB Insights places the company in Atlanta, Georgia, and Dealroom dates it to September 2022 and describes Anderson as an internal medicine physician at Emory. Aggregators disagree on funding. CB Insights shows a $730K seed including BARDA DRIVe, Dealroom $312K in April 2023 and $1.5M in January 2024, Elion $2.2M in total, and Crunchbase hides the amounts. The company announced a BARDA DRIVe partnership on May 21, 2024.

What have its deployments reported?

All three results come from vendor press releases and none is peer reviewed. Emory Healthcare reported a 30% reduction in clinician inboxes (November 2024). Marshfield Clinic said MDAware triages and routes 55% of patient messages (November 2024). A large health system reported 42% fewer provider message touches (December 2025). Praise appears only in these vendor case studies.

How is it priced?

There is no public price. The homepage and platform page offer a demo link.

The verdict

Emory, Marshfield and one unnamed health system are the three deployments reported, each measured on inbox volume or message routing. A health system on athenahealth with a portal-message backlog is the buyer those releases describe. A practice on another EHR has no stated integration to go on.
