eCART vs OpenEvidence
OpenEvidence costs a physician nothing. Access is free to NPI-verified clinicians and funded by advertising, which secondary sources say is mostly pharmaceutical. Its security page states HIPAA compliance, a standard BAA and SOC 2 Type II. Reddit users in September 2025 reported journal bias and a chest x-ray and pulmonary embolism error, and a medRxiv pilot that is not peer reviewed reported accuracy of 31% on a quick search and 39.5% in Deep Consult on subspecialty scenarios. A family physician reaches for it between patients. AgileMD's eCART answers a different need, ward deterioration alerts for a hospital response team, and at Yale the vendor reports a 13% relative mortality reduction since go-live, while a third-party blog argues the response team matters as much as the score.
