Avo vs Birth Model

A chief medical information officer building one platform across a hospital looks at Avo, which the vendor describes as no-code clinical decision support for health systems with Chart Assist, an AI scribe and an EHR chatbot. A labor and delivery unit director looks at Birth Model, and the two do not shop the same list. Birth Model's vendor says its models predict delivery within 12 minutes and claims 99.1% accuracy in the pushing phase, with no study linked. It also lists a seven-day census forecast with staffing alerts tied to AWHONN guidance, risk alerts for postpartum hemorrhage, preeclampsia and shoulder dystocia, and Epic, Oracle Health and athenahealth connections. The homepage and company page carry no FDA statement and an openFDA search by name returned no record, though hemorrhage and preeclampsia alerts would plausibly raise a device-classification question, which the vendor does not address. The company raised a $750K seed round in December 2025, and a New Jersey birth center is its one named user.
