DermaSensor vs PaceMate
DermaSensor holds an FDA De Novo grant, DEN230008, decided on January 12, 2024. PaceMate's homepage, software and security pages state nothing on FDA, and openFDA lists no record under PaceMate.
DermaSensor goes to a primary care group with no dermatologist down the hall, PaceMate goes to a cardiac device clinic, and neither would put the other on a shortlist. The DermaSensor indication covers lesions a physician already finds suspicious, in patients 40 and over, assessed by a non-dermatologist physician. The vendor rents the handheld by the month under a one-year agreement with a try-and-return option, and says a dedicated CPT code has not been established.
PaceMate suits a clinic or health system running remote follow-up on cardiac devices and loop recorders. It lists bi-directional Epic, Oracle Health and athenahealth connections and includes PaceArt Optima for device data management. Pricing comes as four tiers, Software, Flexible, Premium and Elite, with no amounts shown.
