KATE vs Regard

Regard is sold partly to finance buyers. The vendor says it reviews 100% of the chart, recommends diagnoses with an evidence chain and drafts notes, and that no diagnostic logic reaches patients without physician approval. Its solutions include HCC Capture and a mid-revenue-cycle product for missed diagnoses before denials. Regard holds an ONC Health IT certification under the 2015 Cures Update, dated May 2024, shows Epic over FHIR R4 in its demo, and shows Banner Health, WakeMed and Kettering Health among its customers. The vendor's Sentara case study reports 17% more CC/MCC capture and 4x ROI per user.

Mednition's customer is the ED nursing director, and the vendor's 2019 study claimed 26.9% higher triage accuracy, with the paper then in peer review. Regard works on diagnoses and revenue capture across a hospital and KATE on acuity at the ED door, so the two do different jobs.
