KATE vs VisualDx
Mednition's 2019 launch release called KATE the first real-time decision support designed for emergency nurses, and the vendor says it needs zero workflow changes. It has no public price, and the site offers an ROI calculator.
VisualDx publishes Core, the education plan, at $249.99 and Elite, the clinician plan, at $299.99, both per year billed annually, with groups of two to five users on contact-for-pricing. Elite suits an individual clinician who wants a differential builder over 50,000 clinical images across skin tones and body sites, a different purchase from a hospital's ED software. The vendor's history page cites HL7 infobutton and SMART on FHIR support from 2012, and a 2020 DermExpert FAQ from the vendor says VisualDx is exempt from FDA regulation. Auto-renewed annual plans carry a 30-day grace period for a full refund.
