SimpleSense vs VisualDx

A dermatologist or primary care physician building a differential from skin findings is the VisualDx buyer, and the vendor also sells to hospitals, life sciences and public health. Its pricing page lists clinician plans and a contact-for-pricing group tier. The products serve different specialties, so no clinician is choosing between VisualDx and Nanowear.

On the FDA side, openFDA lists four Nanowear 510(k) clearances, the newest K232053 for SimpleSense-BP in December 2023. VisualDx's pages state no FDA clearance, and a 2020 FAQ for its DermExpert app says VisualDx is exempt from FDA regulation. Skin-of-color image coverage is a stated VisualDx strength. Nanowear has two blood pressure papers, a 2025 prospective study of 303 subjects over four weeks by Nanowear authors with internal validation only, and a 2022 Scientific Reports paper on SimpleSense estimating blood pressure.

Cardiology teams monitoring heart failure patients at home are who Nanowear sells its cloth garment and cloud analytics to, and it publishes no price.
