What is Atropos Health and who sells it?

Brigham Hyde, Nigam Shah and Saurabh Gombar founded the company in 2019, and it grew out of Stanford's Green Button project, as Fierce Healthcare reported. Hyde has been CEO since August 2022.

Business Wire carried the announcement of a $33 million Series B in May 2024, led by Valtruis, with new money from Cencora Ventures, McKesson Ventures and the Merck GHI Fund. The release described the money as funding to scale the automation of high-quality personalized real-world evidence using generative AI. A $14 million Series A came in August 2022.

The Atropos Evidence Network is a federated data network, and the company has teased expansion with Arcadia, OneMedNet and others. HC Innovation Group reported deeper integration into Stanford Health Care's EHR, the one EHR link it names. A SOC 2 badge sits in the site footer.

The verdict

A health system with a research or quality team that wants fast observational answers is the buyer Atropos describes, and it brings Stanford roots, a Stanford Health Care EHR link and funding from McKesson, Cencora and Merck's fund. Every outcome figure on the homepage comes from Atropos itself. A clinic that wants rule-based alerts instead of evidence reports is not the audience.
