Who is behind Med School Bootcamp?

Bootcamp.com sells it. Per the product page it was founded by Dr. Anthony Roviso. The vendor says more than 50,000 medical students have used it and that its app has 4.9 stars across about 15,000 reviews, both vendor numbers.

What do you actually get?

The qbank has explanations and is updated for the 2026 Step 1 changes, per a third-party summary of the vendor's Step 1 page. Videos are short and each ends with a Bites quiz. Ask Bootcamp AI is, in the vendor's words, "your personal tutor built right into the platform", and the vendor says it is unlimited on every membership.

The vendor says the platform is fully integrated with AnKing version 12, and after a qbank session a student can pull the matching cards or unsuspend them through a Bootcamp tag. A Performance page tracks Pass Targets, which also decide eligibility for the guarantee.

What does it cost?

As of October 2026 monthly access is $79 and a year is $299, which the page frames as saving $200. Two years cost $449, shown next to $649 as an unlabelled list price. Afterpay and Klarna split payment into four instalments, and groups get 15 to 25 percent off depending on size. A "Start Studying for Free" button exists, but trial length and limits are not stated.

The refund is the Pass Guarantee. It applies to one-year and two-year plans only, requires meeting both Pass Targets and buying at least 30 days before the exam, and then promises the entire payment back.

What backs the pass claims?

The guarantee is a commercial promise, and no independent pass-rate study is published. The testimonials on the vendor's reviews page are curated by Bootcamp. A user quoted on the Step 1 page says "Kinda nuts it's only 300$ a year", which the vendor chose to display. TestPrepInsight scored it 9.4 out of 10 but listed older, higher prices.

Who is it for?

A first-year student on a tight budget, or one who already lives in Anki, is the natural user. QuantaPrep's blog puts UWorld at more than 3,800 questions, so a student relying on Bootcamp alone is betting that 2,500 are enough.

The verdict

At $299 a year the price is low, and the Anki link-up is documented on the vendor's page. Whether the bank is deep enough to carry a student through Step 1 alone has no independent answer.
