Clair vs Medscape Drug Interaction Checker
Medscape's checker is for the prescriber who runs a patient's drug list for severity. It returns five result tiers from Contraindicated to Minor, covers prescription drugs, OTC products, herbal supplements and common foods, and belongs to WebMD. The Medscape page states no price, and intuitionlabs.ai and pillo.care describe it as free with registration. A 2016 J Res Pharm Pract comparison counted 202 of 400 interactions for Medscape against 250 for Lexi-Interact and Epocrates, on an older version.
Clair is for the clinician who types open drug questions, and its interaction function takes two or more drugs, with the vendor citing 2M+ interactions. A banner on cary.health says CaryHealth is now CareTria.
When the list includes herbals or foods and the prescriber wants a severity label, Clair loses. Medscape states both, and cary.health/clair and askclair.ai state neither.
