Bottom line

United Imaging sells AI in two different ways. The uAI line is software from Shanghai United Imaging Intelligence (UII), the AI arm, and the deep-learning reconstruction products belong to scanners made by the parent, Shanghai United Imaging Healthcare (UIH). FDA records list three uAI products and four reconstruction products. Hospitals and imaging departments buying CT, MR or PET/CT are the buyers.

Which United Imaging clearances are AI products?

FDA's 510(k) records list 93 clearances under United Imaging applicant names. Of those, 85 are Shanghai United Imaging Healthcare and 4 are Shanghai United Imaging Intelligence, with the rest under Wuhan, Beijing and Shanghai entries. Nearly all are scanners or workstation software.

Seven are AI products. The uAI products, all filed by the intelligence arm, are uAI EasyTriage-Rib (K193271, January 2021), uAI Portal (K240411, September 2024) and uAI Easy Triage ICH (K242292, September 2024). FDA's summary describes K242292 as a computer-assisted triage and notification device for non-contrast head CT.

The reconstruction products, filed by the scanner company, are Deep Recon (K193073, July 2020), HYPER DLR (K193210, August 2020), HYPER Focus (K210418, April 2021) and HYPER AiR for PET/CT (K210001, April 2021). FDA records describe them as deep-learning image reconstruction.

The remaining listings are scanners and workstation software. They include the uOmnispace post-processing family (K230039 in July 2023 through K253077 in April 2026, with K233176, K233186, K233209 and K242624 in between), the uMR 680 (K222755, February 2023) and the uAngio AVIVA CX angiography system (K253726, August 2026).

One more product is outside that list. UIH's December 2024 news page describes uAIFI.LIVE, an MRI motion visualization feature for the uMR Ultra, as 510(k) pending at the time. The same page says UII holds "over a dozen recent FDA clearances and CE marks" and names none of them.

Who sells it?

UII was established in December 2017 and is headquartered in Shanghai, with branches in Beijing, Wuhan, Chengdu and Boston, according to Dealroom. It is a subsidiary of United Imaging Group and is not listed itself.

The parent, UIH, was founded in 2011 and listed on the Shanghai STAR Market (688271) in August 2022. UIH's homepage presents scanners, among them a 75cm ultra-wide-bore 3T MR and the total-body uEXPLORER PET-CT. At RSNA 2024 UII showed "medical large models" and hosted uAI CONNECTS.

What about integrations, security and price?

EHR and PACS integrations, HIPAA and SOC 2 status for the uAI software are not on United Imaging's pages. No price is listed for the uAI software or the reconstruction products.

The verdict

A hospital already evaluating United Imaging scanners should treat the reconstruction products as part of the scanner decision, priced inside that quote. A department shopping for stand-alone AI triage gets rib and head CT triage plus a portal, with the head CT clearance dated September 2024, and should look at vendors that publish integration and security details before a demo.
